What to expect
We will meet in Pucallpa on the first morning and take a boat to the retreat on the banks of the Ucayali River. The retreat is in the village of Nueva Luz de Fatima, land that has been in our Shaman Gilber’s family for generations. During the day at the retreat you can decide what you’re in the mood for, relax or explore. See wildlife and learn about life in the jungle, swim in the pool, or go for a boat tour on the Ucayali River. At night participate in Ayahuasca Ceremonies overseen by Gilber, who is a very experienced and gifted Shaman. Each morning we will talk about the ceremonies, and help process and make sense of things that came up during the ceremony.
On the fifth day we will leave the retreat and spend the next four days in historic Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. Go on a guided tour of each place and explore on your own. Walk the narrow cobblestone streets in the historic district of Cusco by foot and visit the Sacsaywaman ruins directly outside the city. In Ollantaytambo ancient ruins are perched in the hills overlooking the small town. We will spend the day in Ollantaytambo and then take an evening train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. This is a small town nestled in the Andes Mountains only accessible by train. In the morning we will go to the Machu Picchu World Heritage Site and spend the day exploring the ancient lost city.
The tour ends in back in Cusco on the final day. All flights out should be scheduled in the late afternoon or the following day. Return flights home will go through Lima, so if you have additional time to spend, an extra day or two in Cusco is highly recommended instead of Lima.
If this trip sounds right for you, we hope you will consider joining us for the adventure of a lifetime. Please contact us with any questions!

My name is Tim, and I am the founder and one of the Tour Leaders at Unbounded Adventures. If you're considering this trip you may be wondering, why did I start this venture and what led me to ayahuasca? I used to work at an 8-5 job that I didn’t like and had a boss that made me miserable. Eventually I quit – I didn’t have anything lined up, had no idea what I was going to do, and I didn’t care. Shortly after I left my job I had an awakening of sorts. Everything started to click. More and more I realized that I had gone to school and spent years doing something I didn't even enjoy. It was a hard decision and I knew the risk, but I decided to pursue a different path and took a job doing something I believe in – leading groups on educational tours. Leading tours was the most rewarding challenge I'd ever faced and a perfect fit. I immersed myself in the world of travel and eventually decided that I wanted to design and plan trips for people to have life changing adventures. Around this time I started learning more about ayahuasca and the benefits. I had worked with Angel before and knew she had brought groups of people on ayahuasca journeys to Columbia and Peru, so I joined her to experience it for myself. I immediately realized the benefit and wanted to share it with others. Together, Angel, Gilber (our shaman) and I, partnered up to create this journey to Peru. We hope you join us for an unforgettable journey!
This trip is for someone who wants a different kind of vacation, travel experience, and adventure. This is an experience that will change your life, and one where you may encounter things about yourself that you haven't yet realized. It's not guaranteed to be easy, but it is worth it and you will notice the change right away. This is not for everyone. We will be traveling as a group, so this is also a great chance to make friends and get to know new people. This is an active tour, so you should be ready and able to walk between 3 and 5 miles each day. You should learn about Ayahuasca and research if this is right for you. There is a lot of information out there, so we encourage you to watch documentaries, listen to testimonials, and hear for yourself from other people who have tried it.
